How to join
- On the day, use the Join on Zoom button on this page, or open Zoom yourself and enter the meeting ID and passcode shown here. The room will open ahead of 8 AM Pacific so you can sort out audio before we begin.
- If Zoom asks for a display name, use your first name and last initial only, the same way you would introduce yourself at a meeting.
- Once you are in, find the Interpretation (globe) button if you want Spanish audio, or pin the ASL interpreter’s video if you need sign language. Captions are under the CC button.
- Settle in. Questions about Zoom go in the chat; the hosts will be watching it all day.
ASL and Spanish interpretation
Spanish interpretation runs on a separate audio channel for the whole day. Click the Interpretation (globe) button on the Zoom toolbar and choose Spanish; on a phone or tablet the same control is under More (the three dots), then Language Interpretation. Turn on Mute Original Audio to hear only the Spanish, or leave it off to hear the original speaker quietly underneath. When a Spanish-speaking member shares, the interpreter renders it into English for the main room, so sharing is welcome in either language.
American Sign Language interpreters will be on screen for every session, from the opening to the Responsibility Statement, including the breakout rooms wherever an interpreter is available. On a desktop or laptop, choose ASL from the Interpretation (globe) button to use Zoom’s sign language interpretation view, or hover over the interpreter’s video, open the three-dot menu and choose Pin so the speaker and the interpreter stay side by side. Interpreters rotate during the day and rest during lunch.
Zoom etiquette & online anonymity
- Use your first name and last initial as your display name, just as you would introduce yourself in a meeting.
- Cameras are welcome but optional. Some of us join from a kitchen or a break room; you are no less present with your camera off.
- Stay muted unless you are sharing or asking a question. The hosts will mute stray microphones gently.
- No recording, no screenshots, no photos of the screen. This workshop is not recorded, and we ask every member to extend the same courtesy.
- Use Raise Hand (under Reactions) to share or ask a question; the chair will call on you in order.
- Share the Zoom link within the Fellowship, in your home group, your district or your area, and please do not post it on public social media.
